All of New England Now Licensed as Gov. Signs Bill
The naturopathic medicine profession took another step forward on August 21 when Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo signed bills to license Naturopathic Doctors in Rhode Island. Rhode Island becomes the 20th state and the final New England state to regulate NDs, who are also regulated in the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
Congratulations to the Rhode Island Association of Naturopathic Physicians (RIANP) on this victory, which was championed by RIANP President M. Marcy Feibelman, ND with assistance, input, and advice from Amy Rothenberg, ND of Massachusetts. The AANP extends a hearty thank you to Drs. Feibelman and to Rothenberg, AANP's Physician of the Year in 2017, for their successful efforts.
The naturopathic medicine profession is enjoying historic traction, as success in Rhode Island follows victories in Massachusetts in January 2017 and Pennsylvania in November 2016.
