Dr. Murray "Buz" Susser Announces Retirement

Dear Patient and Other Important Persons in My Life,
I am 82 years old. My family agrees that it is time to retire. That means that my wife and our children say collectively that it is time. I have mixed feelings about giving up the work that has brought so much satisfaction to my life.
I have been working, more or less continuously, since I started delivering newspapers when I was twelve. I have had quite a few jobs since then; two of them stand out: One job was being a trained warrior as an Air Force supersonic jet fighter pilot. That taught me how to deal with terror and the humility necessary to deal with such awesome force. This was during the hottest part of The Cold War.
Diametrically opposite was the privilege of medical school and learning the art and science of healing and the tradition of Hippocrates, which was handed down through 2400 years of hands-on apprenticeship. I have been very fortunate to experience these two such powerful and inspiring forces.
My good fortune is continuing along different lines. I have found Kent Holtorf, M.D. to take over my medical practice. He is the founder and leader of Holtorf Medical Group (HMG). HMG is an association of like-minded doctors who embrace advanced medical thinking. Most of you know that I have a somewhat advanced approach to practicing medicine. All doctors have their own personal style; Dr. Holtorf, his team of doctors and I have similar styles and philosophy in giving patient care. I do not want my patients to feel deserted. As such, HMG can provide the same kind of advanced care that I have always given.
I know that many of you have unusual and confusing health problems. In many cases that is why you chose me. That is also why I chose HMG to replace me. They have the same approach that I have. I will be available by phone and Facetime/Skype to help for at least three months should I be needed to review your case with one of their doctors. Another piece of good fortune is that HMG is only 7 ½ miles away in El Segundo. In light traffic, it is a quick trip. There are many details and questions to deal with, but rest assured they have an amazing staff to help you with this transition. Sometimes a fresh look at a problem can lead to new diagnosis and treatment.
We are having a reception that is a farewell to me and an introduction to Dr Holtorf and HMG. We thought it would also be nice to make it a little educational- Dr. Holtorf will give a lecture on new therapies for weight loss, energy, depression, health and beauty from the inside out. He will also stay after to discuss new therapies for Lyme disease, as I have a good number of such patients. It will be on Wednesday, June 28th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at my current office in the upstairs meeting room. There will be hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Please RSVP by emailing with the name and contact number or email of those attending.  I look forward to seeing you and introducing you to Dr. Holtorf and his staff. This is difficult for me, but the concern is softened by the knowledge that I am leaving my patients in good hands. We plan to have this be a win for all of us.
We will be offering all of our supplements at a 20% discount starting Monday, June 26th
Fondly--wishing you a bright and healthy future,

M. Susser, MD
