Critical Updates in Integrative Functional Medicine
The field of Integrative Functional Medicine is growing rapidly and so are the potential applications of this new knowledge in human health and disease. This is true particularly in the areas of managing cancer, chronic degenerative conditions, infections, autoimmunity and allergy. This conference will examine current advances in immune, nutrition and hormone function and testing, leading to more individualized treatment strategies, and will examine current advances in interdisciplinary approaches towards prevention of these chronic conditions.

Doctors and other health professionals will be instructed in how to incorporate this new information into their own practices and make intelligent decisions on the treatment of cancer, chronic degenerative and immune disorders and optimization of health. Personalized Medicine also includes collaborative technology, allowing patients to gain access to actionable information and technologies, enabling greater participation in their care. The conference will include content to engage and apply collaborative patient communications.

Educational Objectives:
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Advance their understanding of the stress impact of chronic inflammation and infectious diseases on metabolic, hormonal, and neurochemical communications networks
- Gain knowledge of nutritional and detoxification strategies to reduce human and societal toll from inflammatory disorders, cancer and infectious diseases
- Determine genetic and epigenetic risk factors for developing neurodegenerative disorders such as dementia.
- Understand the impact of oral pathology and sleep disorders on immune and hormone systems and its impact on chronic degenerative diseases
- Identify testosterone deficiencies and safely prescribe testosterone treatment in women & men
- Understand the scientific and clinical basis for immune modulating therapies to improve failing immune systems, and overcome chronic, resistant infections
