ACAM FEATURED WRITERS AND ARTICLES

Increased referral responses to members, helpful assistance to users
ACAM Administration
One of the primary responses we've heard from the customer is they've had a difficult time finding the link to search for physician services. The new website has a significantly improved presence of the Physician+Link and physician profiles to ensure you'll be easily found online 24/7. We recommend giving the Physician+Link website search a try as your main resource: Visit PHYSICIAN+LINK. Start by searing either the specialty desired, or the state you are looking for assistance in. We will have a radius search based off zip code in the very near future. The more basic your primary search is, the more results the search will yield. Please note: Only providers whom are members of ACAM will be listed in our directory — this is not an all-encompassing list of providers.

If a phone call is more your forte, ACAM's same toll free number, 1-800-532-3688, will put you in touch with Physician+Link Assistance, as well as ACAM's Member Services. Providers, when referred through the 1-800 number, will now be able to automatically sent a referral response, allowing the provider to proactively contact the customer. We anticipate the automation of the system will help customers find you faster and increase the response time for the callers who chose to speak to a representative.

US Census Bureau reports benefit of alternative credentials
U.S. Department of Commerce, United States Census Bureau
Recently, the U.S. Census Bureau released a report announcing that in fall 2012, more than 50 million U.S. adults, or 1 in 4, had obtained a professional certification, license or educational certificate apart from a postsecondary degree awarded by colleges and universities. A demographer with the Census Bureau's Education and Social Stratification Branch stated in the report, "Getting an academic degree is not the only way for people to develop skills that pay off in the labor market," which was evidenced by data showing that, in general, alternative credentials provide a path to higher earnings.
