Votes still needed
If you are an ACAM member, your VOTE is still needed. We are still shy of our required quorum. The Bylaws Committee, Executive Committee and Directors of the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM) have approved the following bylaws for changes and in accordance with our current bylaws. We now present these to the current voting membership of ACAM for ratification and approval. There are five (5) changes being proposed. These proposed changes are being presented in the order in which they appear in our bylaws. The survey will remain on-line for 30 days in accordance with our by-laws, when we will then share the results.
An attempt was made to present these live at our Spring Conference, however, per the by-laws, we did not have the required 10% minimum in attendance for a quorum and as such we were unable to present. The by-laws allow for an electronic vote in such conditions.
If you have NOT already voted, please do so now. Each member is asked to go online to our free online survey and take just 10 minutes to complete this five question survey which deals with five proposed changes. To complete the survey, click HERE.
Thank you for voting and exercising your ACAM membership rights.

Homeopathy and Midwifery — Help with pregnancy and childbirth
Steven J. Brynoff, Traditional Naturopath, ND, OMD
It takes around 42 weeks to create a new human being. It is one of the most natural processes in the world, and one of the few experiences that can be truly life-changing and sacred if intentionally and purposefully experienced. It is unfortunate that Western medicine tends toward treating this as a medical 'condition.' It is normal for the expectant mother to experience a vast array of new sensations.

Autism tied to air pollution, brain-wiring disconnection
Researchers seeking the roots of autism have linked the disorder to chemicals in air pollution and, in a separate study, found that language difficulties of the disorder may be due to a disconnect in brain wiring. Researchers from Harvard University's School of Public Health found that pregnant women exposed to high levels of diesel particulates or mercury were twice as likely to have an autistic child compared with peers in low-pollution areas.
Autism Speaks collaborative releases first full genome sequencing for autism

Omega-3 fatty acid levels associated with prostate cancer risk
Blood levels of omega-3 fatty acids may be associated with prostate cancer risk, a new study reports. Fish oil contains two omega-3 fatty acids called docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Some nuts, seeds, and vegetable oils contain alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which may be converted to DHA and EPA in the body. Omega-3 fatty acids are thought to provide a wide range of health benefits, including a lower risk of heart disease and improvement in cholesterol.
