WHAT'S NEXT: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Advanced Prevention will be the theme of the 2016 ACAM Annual Meeting held in Tucson, Arizona September 15-18, 2016.

In recent discussions by the Board of Directors and the Education Committee, a significant need for better collaboration between medical disciplines in patient care was recognized. The 2016 annual meeting will address how each of the disciplines (MD, DO, ND, DDS, PA, NP, DC) can accomplish this goal. there will be an emphasis on advanced prevention of three major conditions, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, and degenerative brain conditions.

I want to thank ACAM for allowing me the privilege to serve as your President for the last 2 years. I have observed tremendous change that could only have come with the hard work of all those active members who have contributed their time in the various committees. You probably have noticed just how far we have grown in the services we offer you, on our website, and in other avenues. Since we are still going through much needed organizational changes with the aim to remain solid and competitive in the field of integrative medical education, I have agreed, with the support of the Board of Directors, to maintain my role as President for 2016. Our intent is to expand our leadership pipeline, focus on growing our Board of Directors, and welcome new leaders. We believe that leadership stability, in partnership with AMBD, will ensure ACAM's position as the industry leader and provide our members the same great educational programs as demonstrated over the last 40+ years.
If you attended the Annual Meeting in Las Vegas this year, thank you very much for your commitment and participation. Our sincere thanks go out to the many volunteers who contributed to the annual meeting's success. Your membership in ACAM is valued on both a personal and professional level.

We look forward to a productive 2016 with our members, and look forward to an amazing Annual Meeting in Tucson, AZ September 15-18. Until the annual meeting, please take advantage of all that ACAM offers - virtual learning ventures, chelation certification, podcast and vodcasts, the ACAM store, real-time referrals and more. If you have any questions, please contact our Association Manager Carrie Kovash at carrie.kovash@acam.org or 1.800.532.3688. We wish you and yours the happiest of holidays and a fruitful 2016. I look forward to seeing you all in Tucson!

SUPPORT S. 1406 SAVING ACCESS TO COMPOUNDED MEDICATIONS FOR SPECIAL NEEDS PATIENTS ACT
ATTENTION ALL INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE PRACTITIONERS:
ACAM is starting a letter writing campaign to strongly suggest to our senators to vote "YES" on Senate Bill 1406, which will continue to allow doctors to  prescribe compounded medicines and allow patients to continue receiving them.
PLEASE SHARE  http://www.congressweb.com/iacp/8 with all of your colleagues to write a letter of support for Senate Bill 1406 and PLEASE write one yourself! Also, please pass this link on to your entire patient e-mail lists with a strong statement asking them to write to their senators too.  If a patient is willing to write a personal letter, to tell their unique stories about how compounded medications have either saved their lives or greatly enhanced their health and quality of life this would also be EXTREMELY helpful.

This letter was written by President Green to Tadashi Mitsuo, MD in Japan regarding Chelation updates and services.

As the President of the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM) I am happy to be sending you a warm welcome from the United States. You are fortunate to be getting trained in "Chelation Therapy", one of the most effective therapies to optimize health in many of your patients. In addition to it's known beneficial effects in heavy metal detoxification, the recently published TACT study (Trial to Asses Chelation Therapy) in the Journal of the American Medical Association also proves its definitive efficacy in reversing future CV complications in patients with a known history of advanced cardiovascular disease. The amazingly positive health effects were especially seen in diabetic patients who have some of the highest risk for accelerated vascular damage. READ MORE
